Story behind the song
Gary and Vic recorded this in Oct. of 2005, while they practiced for the Frank Marino gig. This is an experimental jam, played without a bassist, Trace. Hence , the play on words, as it truely is WITHOUT A TRACE. This is an example of how Gary writes his songs. They start with an incredible jam. Later, the choice bits are expanded upon, the compostion is tightened up, and it evolves into a shorter version. Without Victor, this process will never continue with this gem, so it stands AS IS . Gary never meant for this to be Online, but I have listened to it so many times while cruising in my Z28, that I felt it should be shared. I love every single note of it. It's a frozen moment in time.
